Write it in light! Light Writing Photography.

Oi Vey! It's been too long since my last update! I was planning/attending a Bachelorette party for my Best friend, went out of town to do so, and attended graduation celebrations among other things so I was just busy. Ever notice that when the sun starts coming out more your schedule gets like 20 times busier? Sheesh!

So as y'all know I've been in puppy love with my new Camera Allie. I've been doing my best to get to know what to do with her and get her out of auto mode! So intimidating! I'm one of those people who has an eye for photography but am not quite best friends with the technical side of it all. There is so much great info out there though and with a little learning time put in I think I'm kind of getting it. If you're like me and you're wanting to learn a bit more about your DSLR camera You should check out  He is kind of a wacky guy but really informative and gives his information freely. A true Teacher at heart I guess. =)

Anyway I thought I would drop in and show you what my latest photography project has been. I tried light writing! It was really cool and super fun to do! It's something I would LOVE to try this if I do any Engagement shoots *fingers crossed*! =D

Here is the video I used  to achieve this (it's actually pretty easy). All you need is a little flash light or glow sticks, a low ISO setting (100) and a high f-stop (I used what the guy in the video recommended which was F20) and the ability to keep your shutter open for as long as you're writing in the air! That's it! Pretty simply and I'm a total newb saying that. =D

And here is what we came out with. I did a little love message to my hubsters!

So cool huh!? I darkened the background a little but besides that there was no editing done. It was so fun and I can't wait to try it again!!

I will be back next week for sure. I'm pushing to have a super sweet tutorial done by then!

I'm off to pick some family up at the airport now. Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

P.S. Anyone that lives in the Santa Cruz CA area, I'm doing free photo shoots right now with people to try and get some experience shooting what I would actually like to focus on which is people.

Here's what I would like to try:

Senior portraits
People with their pets
Pin-up/ boudoir (Like tasteful feminine stuff, nothing raunchy or gross)
Or of course if you just want some pictures of yourself then I would love to do those too. =)

Let me know if you're interested or if you know anyone who is. Also if you want pictures for reference to see if you would like my style of work and would want to work with me then please message me and I can e-mail you back with some pictures. or you can reach me through my facebook. =)
