The Fat Fashionista! Post #1

I am one excited girl to finally be doing this post! It's one that I have been wanting to do since the start of my blog here and it's happening! Don't you hate it when you just LOVE a certain fashion or you see a girl walking down the street, rocking an outfit you would die to wear, but then you remember the body you actually have and realize it has it's own plans for what you're allowed to dress like? Yeah, me too.

I am not a size 6 or even a size 12. I am a legit plus size gal and I love myself.  But I have struggled with my weight ever since I can remember and I know there are a lot of other women out there who have and do struggle with this too. And you don't have to be a bigger girl to be someone who fits into that category. It can be a couple pounds that you're always battling or a 100 pounds. You don't even have to be someone who struggles with weight but maybe just doesn't like something about you're body. No matter where you are you should LOVE yourself and have license to feel beautiful and amazing and express it in whatever way makes you happy.

Before I jump in any further though I do want to be clear that I don't think that being over weight is healthy or something that should be ignored. I have lost almost 60 pounds from my top weight and I am still working on losing what I have left. So obviously, health is an important thing to me.

But even when I was at my heaviest I still felt like I could look in the mirror and feel beautiful. My point here is that we all of problems and some are easier hidden then others, but  really, who can tell us what we should be happy with when we look in the mirror? We learn socially what is acceptable for just about everything, but I just don't think that because you're not a size 6, or have at least a B-cup that you can't be beautiful. We all come in way to many shapes and sizes for one size of beauty to fit all, so to speak.

For me, this is where The Fat Fashionista was born. Makeup, hair, and dressin up are an outlet I use to express myself. I love it! I have so much fun when it's girls night out or even just going out to the store. I like color, layering, and mixing different silhouettes and textures. I love Anthropology and Forever 21 but a lot of their styles do not come in my size. So, I try and create the looks I like with flattering clothes that work for my figure.  So here's my first post about doing just that!

I have been getting into white, lacy, and or ruffly tops. Almost all those things are a big no-no when you're plus size. BUT! I found this super cute top at Torrid and it just had to came home with me! =D

It has layers of white ruffles with layers of white lace! I know the picture is not that great but you get the idea. I didn't really dress this one up for the picture but imagine it with a cute red cardigan with a leather waist belt! LOVE!

Also I picked these sweet thangs up at Target for $12.00 on clearance!
Major score and if you ask me they finish off the outfit just perfectly!

I'm going to try and do this post every Friday. I hope you enjoyed this one and if there's a look that you're interested in trying but you're not sure how to do it, give me a haller and I'll do my best to help ya out! I have an hour-glass shape that I dress for but I believe if you like a certain look that there is almost always a way to pull it off or at least get the same feeling of a look using different pieces.
Hope Everyone has an AWESOME Easter weekend and thanks for stopping in!

Lets get crafty with these curves shall we?! =)
