Since I can't eat a whole cake to myself on the days I'm craving a little something sweet that is covered in frosting, my go to was a cupcake (who am I kidding? This is not a was, but an is. As in I'm in love with cupcakes and this is a serious love affair. Don't doubt our love-it will make me cry.=P) but now that the trusty Starbucks down the street from my house has began carrying something called a Cake Pop, it may compete with cupcakes. Ok, only slightly.
However, Starbucks is not the first place I've heard of these awesome creations. They were actually created by a wonderful dessert blogger named Bakerella. I've been meaning to try making these but I have not had an event to make them for and I wont torture myself by keeping a bunch of them around the house. I've lost a bit of weight so far and my plan is to keep the number going down. Not back up.
When I saw them though I couldn't say no. So home one of each went with me. My mom and I both had a bite of each and left the rest for my sister-is-law who was coming over. They are about 3 to 5 bites each. The perfect amount for a taste of the good stuff. I would have to say that my fav ones were the Birthday Cake, and the Rocky Road pops. I used to work at a high end bakery and I'm still a snob when it comes to Tiramisu so that one didn't do it for me. They were tasty though and it was fun to try them. Who doesn't love such a cute treat! They are adorable!
Here are some of the pictures I took after my mom and I both took our bites. I couldn't be bothered to take pictures before. The car ride home was long enough to wait. I'm sure everyone has been here before.... right....right?
They were yummy and hit my cake loving heart right on center!
